2010 raffle winner Greg Hogge of Epcor – a big thanks to feature sponsor Sunds Lodge of Malcolm Island:
Wow. The Sund’s lodge on Malcolm Island is a trip of a life time. I have been to a few fishing lodges but this one offers so much more. It is truly a luxury trip that would be a pleasure for the whole family. With fantastic accommodations, picturesque setting, superb fishing, world class dining, and outstanding customer service, what’s not to like.
The trip was a 2 full days and 2 half days in the all inclusive resort. We caught Chinook Salmon (up to 26#), Halibut (up to 50#), Pink and Coho Salmon and bottomfish. Even though my friend out fished me with the 50 pounder it was still a fantastic trip.
We ate like royalty with world class 5 course meals including wine pairings. Lunches were also superb with the “Beach Bistro”. If you have never had crab cooked over an open fire on the beach I highly recommend it. The next day was lunch from the “Burger Boat”. Gourmet hot burgers or hot dogs that they cook on a boat as you pull along side.
The Sund’s lodge also has outstanding accommodations and friendly and attentive staff that catered to our every need. It was truly and outstanding experience.
Thanks to Scott Sund for the donation of the trip to a great cause. I look forward to the next time I get to stay and fish at their outstanding resort.

2009 raffle winner Kim Tapping of Times Colonist (who graciously gave her trip to her father!) – a big thanks to feature sponsor Duncanby Lodge of River’s Inlet:
The entire trip to Rivers Inlet was first class!! The plane ride, both ways, was exciting . The view all the way was breathtaking.
Duncanby Lodge is a top notch facility. The staff were very accommodating in every way. The meals were terrific—all you could eat any time of day!! The fishing boats were well stocked with fishing and navigating equipment and cleaned up for you after every trip. The scenery around the lodge is spectacular—marine life, including whales, could be seen from the sundeck any time of day. The only problem we had was that the fish did not co-operate!!! We arrived there between the big springs and the coho runs and the fishing was slow. However,we enjoyed ourselves immensely and I would recommend staying at Duncanby Lodge to anyone planning a trip to Rivers Inlet!!!
